Placing your baby crib or infant bed in the nursery
Placing your baby crib or infant bed in a safe place in the nursery will help ensure your peace of mind, and your baby's safety.
When placing your baby crib or infant bed in the nursery, avoid placing the crib too close to the window. Whilst it may seem natural to place the crib by the window for sunlight and fresh air, curtains, drapes, and blinds can present a hazard to your child, and cords, a greater risk of strangulation.
Fresh air from the window can easily make the sleeping environment too cold, and direct drafts increase your baby's susceptibility to flu's, cold, and infection.
Pictures, coffee mugs, tea cups, or other objects that may fall into the crib should always be avoided and removed. A good rule of thum is never take your coffee, tea, or snacks into the nursery.
Your child´s reach is improving every day. Make sure no dangerous objects are reachable from the crib to help keep your baby safe from harm.
