Baby crib and cot options
Baby cribs, cots and beds, come in all shapes, styles and forms, and provide both you and your child with many options and choices.
When evaluating and deciding upon the ideal baby crib for your child:
- The first thing you should keep in mind is the safety aspect of your baby's crib. Take your time to read reviews, testimonials and safety standards to help you confirm your choice. Inexpensive cribs, cots and beds can be found at any mall, and provide a wide range of some very attractive baby cribs in both price and style. But, there's nowhere better to research and compare potential cribs for your child than on the Internet. Consumer comparison portals often provide you with a wide range of similar products from both the higher and lower ends of the pricing scale. Although price is an important consideration, your child's safety and comfort should never be compromised.
- A baby crib or cot is usually more stable than a bassinette and becomes more desirable once your baby begins to roll around. Like all infant beds, a variety of accessories can usually also be purchased to supplement your bed and add nicer features and expansion possibilities. Although the base of the bed itself can be relatively inexpensive, it is wise to consider the accessories your child will require with the bed and add these into the total asking price of your crib. Especially if you intend to convert your crib into an infant bed to accomodate your child's growth.
- Drop sides, bars and other moving parts, including those which can be detached or removed, are prone to wear and possible damage. Before purchasing your crib, make sure that the bed's longevity, warranty and guarantee also apply to these parts as well.
- An infant bed or crib is a piece of furniture. Once your child is fully-grown, you may wish to sell your crib. The second hand value of your baby's crib should not be overlooked. A less expensive or lower-quailty bed will tend to wear more quickly and will have a limited lifespan which depreciates its value. Premium or higher-quality cribs can be resold for a decent amount of money, or can be a great gift to pass on to others when your child has grown out of it.
