  1. The first thing you should keep in mind is the safety aspect of your baby's crib. Take your time to read reviews, testimonials and safety standards to help you confirm your choice. In expensive cribs, cots, and beds can be found at most every mega-store, and provide a wide range of some very attractive baby cribs in both price and style. There's nowhere better to research and compare potential cribs for your child than on the Internet. Consumer comparison portals often provide you with a wide range of similar products from both the higher and lower end of the pricing scale. And whilst price is an important consideration, your child's safety and comfort should never be conceeded.

  2. An baby crib, or cot, is usually more stable than a bassinette, and becomes desirable once your baby can begin to roll. Like all infant beds, a variety and assortment of accessories can usually also be purchased to supplement your bed and add greater features and expansion possibilities. Whilst the bed base itself can be relatively inexpensive, it is wise to consider the accessories your child will require from the bed and calculate these into the total asking price of your crib. Especially if you intend to convert your crib into an infant bed to accomodate your child's growth.

  3. Drop sides, bars, and other moving parts, as well as those which can be detached or removed, are prone to stress and possible damage. Before purchasing your crib test and ensure that the beds longevity, warranty, and guarantee also applies to these parts as well.

  4. An infant bed or crib is a piece of furniture. Once your child is fully grown, you may wish to sell your crib. The second hand value of your baby's crib should not be understated. A less expensive or lower quailty bed tends to wear more quickly and have a limited lifespan, depreciating in value and worth. Premium or higher-quality cribs can be sold for a fair sum or be a great gift to pass on to others when your child has grown out of it.
