I have recently redecorated and wonder if I am able to personalize my Stokke Care changing table?

The Stokke Care changing table, is part of our nursery product line which also includes Stokke Sleepi and Stokke Keep. Stokke Care is available in a wide range of colors designed to help you create, match or complement the color scheme of your nursery. However, as your interior color scheme changes over time you may wish to personalize and add new life to your changing table with fresh tones and hues.

While personalizing your Stokke wooden product is a simple, no-hassle task, we do recommend following this useful twelve-step guide to help you and your child continue to get the most out of your Stokke Care changing table.

  1. Loosen and remove all screws to disassemble your product. Following your product´s assembly instructions in reverse will help you remove each part in a safe and consistent manner.
  2. Wash each part separately and thoroughly, making sure to remove all grease and other residues using a neutral to alkaline non-detergent soap. We recommend a fluid rather than a powder-based soap to avoid scraping, scratching or any other abrasions to your chair’s surface.

  3. Allow each part to dry.
  4. Remove labels carefully so that you may reattach them later.
  5. Sandpaper the surface of each wooden part lightly to remove the protective lacquer coating using 220 grade paper. Do not sand or otherwise attempt to grind any painted or non painted screws or other metallic parts.
  6. Use a dry cloth to remove all dust and sandpaper deposits.
  7. Apply a thin first, but even, coat to each wooden part using a reputable and well-known water-based paint. Ensure that all slats and grooves are lightly covered.
  8. Allow each part to dry.
  9. Apply the final thin, but even, coat to each wooden part.
  10. Allow each part to dry.
  11. Reassemble your product by following the assembly instructions to ensure you assemble it in the correct manner.
  12. Replace the warning label.
